One would think that I would know the difference between cp and mv by now.
One would be mistaken.

Water. Hole.
Went to the ridiculously small kitchenette to fill up my water bottle.
We got new watercoolers this week (it was probably easier than replacing the filters).
This one wasn't optimally positioned to accomodate my water bottle, so I set it down and moved the watercooler.
In the process, I knocked my water bottle into the garbage hole.

Update
So I found my workout glove.
It was in the lost and found locker of the fitness center locker room.
I also found my lock.
Which I didn't realize I had lost.
I guess I was more tired than I thought last time.
At least I made sure it was mine before I put it on my locker.

Fully Jacketed
Forgot to take my jacket home yesterday.
It's been rainy & chilly lately.
Now I'm rockin' two jackets.

Gloved One
I seem to have misplaced one of my workout gloves.
I probably dropped it from my gym bag during preparations for a kickball game, which involves backseat contortions.
It's probably been soaking in a field for the better part of a week.
Too bad, it was fairly new.

Get Real (Estate)
A house a few down from me is on the market. They had an open house Sunday, so I took a look to see what a presentable home looks like.
Here's what I determined:
* They have gas heat (But an electric stove. Go figure.)
* You can choose to not have a useless shed in the back yard.
* A front deck looks pretty good (& somewhat functional)
* I'm living like an animal. AN ANIMAL!

Rolling With the Forties
The scale in the doctor's office says I'm just over 140.
This is after a 12-hour fast, too.
But wait, I tell the nurse, let me empty my pockets. I have a lot of stuff in my pockets.
I empty my pockets and take off my shoes.
Still 140.
I haven't gotten any taller, either.

Miss, where do the high school girls hang out around here?
When getting one's hair cut and/or highlighted, try not to go to the hair place on the same day as a local high school's prom.

I've Got the Power
Had a 5-hour meeting which started first thing in the morning. (Okay, 10am, close enough, whatever.) It was in another building, so I decided to drive and park there instead of stopping at my desk first.
In order to do this, I only had to do one thing this morning: Bring my laptop's power cord, so I would have enough juice to last the whole meeting.
Of course, I forgot.
Had to walk back over and get it.

Ohmigod I am so, like, out of shape
I did a light workout last night. Legs & shoulders. Squats are out, since doing them causes my right knee to feel funny and go all clicky.
I also did 15 minutes on the stairmaster.
After a few minutes, I thought I was going to die. Notched it back to level 5 and barely made it through.
I was so gassed, I thought I wasn't going to make it home and that I would need to sleep in the locker room.

From Last Night's Kickball
* I got moved up in the batting order to third. To celebrate this fact, I kicked the ball with my left foot. This was not my intent; it's not my strong foot. In fact, not even my right foot is my strong foot, it's my less-weak foot. I popped it up for an easy out.
* While playing third, during a spectactularly botched series of fielding lapses, I managed to move myself out of position, to be forced to watch as 7 or 8 runners ran by.
Well, it felt like 7 or 8, anyway.
* Also while playing third, threw a runner out (you're allowed to peg the runner). This was not, in and of itself dumb (in fact, it was a good toss, if I do say so myself) -- the dumbness comes in because I was yelling as I did it (and didn't realize it until afterwards).
Here is an actual game photo:

Needles to say, we lost the game.

Things They Should Tell You on CSI
When sitting under a black light, it is useful to know that lint and fuzzies on a dark shirt fluoresce brightly so as to make it look like one has a really severe case of dandruff.
I won't even talk about discolored patches of unknown provenance on one's jeans.

Reason to Get a Haircut #3
Backing out of my parking spot at 9 this morning, I didn't properly check my right side.
I believe that the hair is starting to interfere with my peripheral vision.
Plus, I didn't look all that carefully, since really: who else is leaving at the slack-ass hour of 9am?
Of course, 2 horn blares tell me that I nearly backed into another car.
Bonus: I had to follow the other driver out, and since we live in the same development, I will probably see her in the future.
Very uncomfortable.

Lack of CTRL
One of Murphy's Laws of Combat (in all its various incarnations) is: If it's stupid and it works, it isn't stupid.
Consider:

My pinkies still hurt when I type. It's definitely the typing that's doing it, since my hands get better over the weekends.
So, I'm trying to be an 8-fingered typist, but I figured out that my use of the CTRL keys is killing me, especially when sending IMs (which we tend to do around here).
So, I took off my control keys.
I'll let you know if it's stupid or not.
