Here's the top panel from the box of
Kellogg's Raisin Bran I opened for breakfast. Note the "Better if used before" date -- AUG 21 2000:
I would be lying if I said this was unusual for my pantry.
In addition to being about 7 years old, it's also Raisin Bran from another era.
Pre-9/11 Raisin Bran.
It tasted like... a more
innocent Raisin Bran.
I got your Time Capsule right here.
Actually, it wasn't rancid or particularly stale. And being Raisin Bran, it's not like it's got a lot of flavor to lose in the first place.
I would definitely rate it first grade Raisin Bran (since it would be enrolled in elementary school by now).
That's great...from the more recent posts, I'm glad to see you didn't die. Don't try the same with milk. :)
ReplyDelete"A more innocent raisin bran." Awesome. But as much as I'd love a return to innocence, I don't think I would have eaten this.
ReplyDeleteI once pulled out some calamine lotion from the medicine cabinet so that I could put it on some poison ivy. Then I noticed it had a Peoples Drugstore label - that's what CVS was before it was CVS. Yeah.
ReplyDeleteDan: I find that when milk passes the tipping point, it clumps up and doesn't pour, thus solving the problem.
ReplyDeleteRobert: I am saving a sample for the 9/11 truthers, so they can determine whether my Raisin Bran had prior knowledge of the attacks.
Bozoette: But how did the calamine lotion taste?
love the:
ReplyDelete"Hey Kids! Get your Kelloggs Time Capsule!"

ReplyDeletepeoples drug store calamine lotion??..

Love them preservatives.
ReplyDeleteThrow a processed food on the ground outside, and come back a few weeks later. If it's still there and looks the same, you know it's not natural.
